Former Worker at Warren County Sheriff’s Department Charged with Attempted Murder
A woman who used to work for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly tried to kill her ex-husband in Independence, New Jersey.
The suspect is a 63-year-old woman who resides in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. According to authorities, she went to Independence Township, NJ and got into a heated argument with her former husband.
At some point during the violent altercation, the suspect allegedly brandished a loaded firearm and threatened to shoot the victim.
The victim subsequently dialed 911 to alert Independence NJ law enforcement. However, the suspect reportedly fled the scene before police officers arrived. Authorities later obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect and apprehended her.
The suspect has been charged with several crimes, including attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a weapon without a valid carry permit.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was taken to the Warren County Jail in Belvidere, New Jersey. She will have to remain in jail without bail during pre-trial hearings.
