PA Man Charged with Drunk Driving in Washington Borough, NJ
A Pennsylvania man has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after allegedly causing two drunk driving accidents on a highway in Washington Borough, NJ.
The suspect is a 54-year-old man from North Wales, PA. He was reportedly driving a Toyota 4Runner on the 500 block of Route 57 West in Washington Borough NJ when he lost control of the car and hit another car on the highway.
Sometime later, the suspect allegedly drifted off the road and crashed into trees located just off the highway.
A witness spoke with police after the second accident and said that he saw the suspect “driving erratically” on Route 57.
Fortunately, no one was injured in either of the DWI accidents.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with numerous traffic violations, including DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
In addition to being charged with Driving While Intoxicated, the suspect was also charged with Breath Test Refusal because he allegedly refused to submit to a breath test when requested by police.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was released on his own recognizance.
